Progress + FYP

Sorry for being away so long. I've been very busy with my final year project (FYP) nowadays, until I don't even have time for my own personal project. Anyway, to update abit, I'm kinda messed up recently (sort of) as things doesn't really work out so good. Hmmm... Frankly, I do not know what to say or bitch/rant about, except that my course is kinda shitty (more shitty than ever) and I'm dying to graduate in another half a year.

By the way, for the period I've been missing, I did realise my blog has hit a thousand views. I wanted to make (draw/3D, whatever...) something for the visitors that came and supported my blog for the past few months. But you know, me with all the shits around... My blog wouldn't make it so far without all of you. So, a bunch of thanks to all of you. Getting a thousand hits within half a year is quite a feat and I'm proud of it. If things go well, hopefully my blog would reach 5000 hits in another year.

Okay, I bet most of you don't EVEN bother reading the crap I wrote, so I will be posting my recent courseworks here. For my FYP, I'll be doing a game-sort-of-thing. These pictures are the 1st 3D stage that I've done. Of course improvisation and more detailing will come later. My theme or story will be revolving on a futuristic sci-fi setting, with "cyberpunk" as central theme.

As a side note, although my work came out kinda impressive (wahahaha) considering I did all this in 2 days, it is still far from the industry standard. For my final outcome, I will try to achieve the quality of the recently-famous PC game, "Dead Space". Below are some screenshots of the game.

Well, that's all for now. Will be posting more of my FYP progress and the stuff I did previously on here sooon

2D vs 3D

It seems that I have a bunch of friends who do not know what I'm actually doing or can't differentiate between 2D and 3D digital arts, especially my lui-bing-mui-mui (clumsy little sister). In this post, I will explain the things that I'm doing right now and will be doing in the future.

The field I'm studying right now or I'm going to venture has strong connection to what we call "digital arts". Rather calling it "connection", you can say what I'm doing are exactly digital arts. The term "digital arts" is referring to artworks done digitally in both 2D and 3D form. IF you do not get what "digital" means, basically just imagine artworks done in computer, that's "digital art".

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

For 2D arts, there are "vector" and "bitmap" art. I won't go into details about the difference between vector and bitmap, it needs hell lot of explanation. Well, when it comes to 2D art, it USUALLY refers to digital painting/drawing/sketching. In 2D art, the workspace that we are dealing is just coordinate X and Y, which means width and height. Be it a realistic drawing/painting, a cartoon, caricature, landscape, etc., as long as the art is done in a flat surface with only coordinate X and Y, that's 2D art. Examples? Classical Disney cartoon like Snow White, Lil' Mermaid, Warner Bros. Bugs Bunny, are all 2D.

Here are some samples on how I work in 2D:

My previous artwork painted in Adobe Photoshop CS3 (clicky to enlarge)
I've mark the X and Y coordinate in RED for your better understanding
Another artwork painted in Corel Painter 9

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

For 3D arts, there are still images, animation, games and so on. The difference with 2D? It has depth and space. The coordinates involve are X, Y and Z. Usually when we do 3D arts, we do not "draw" it. "Draw" is not a correct term for it, rather we call it "model", sort of like "Hey, what creature are you modeling for your assignment?".

When it comes in working 3D, there are 3 main stages, "modeling", "texturing" and "rendering". "Modeling" is where we create the shapes or form for our object, sort of like "sculpting" our masterpiece. "Texturing" is where we apply the "skin "for our object, giving it colours, texture and so on. While "rendering", we set up the necessary light source in the 3D space, setting up the mood of environment, and finally processing our 3D art into images or animation.

Examples of 3D arts are such as Pixar's Wall-E and Finding Nemo, which has a cartoonish approach or style. Animation like Final Fantasy: Spirit Within is also a 3D art/animation (duh), with a realistic approach. Well, those uber gay landscape you saw in Lord of The Rings trilogy are done in 3D as well and it's an art/masterpiece in it's own right.

And here are some samples on how I work in 3D:

A 3D art I'm doing for my cute lil' sister (and myself) in 3D Studio Max
Again, I've mark the coordinates in RED for you to understand the "space" I'm dealing.
Another close-up.

Well, my post is kinda long this time. There are a lot of detail stuff that I haven't explain yet. IF you still don't get what I'm saying (which has something to do with your IQ), or you are interested in the "details" that I mentioned, do look for me and I'll gladly show you how I work XD.

Rant And Bitch 1

As most of you see, initially I created this blog just to dedicate to arts and design. Rarely (or almost none), I'll enter some journal about my daily life and treat it as a diary, which most bloggers like to do. But sometimes, some stuff just get to you and pisses you so much that you wanna rant and bitch about it. So, here are the things I'm gonna bitch about in my first "Rant And Bitch Series".

Alright, I'm studying in Cyberjaya, far from my home, renting a house with 9 other assholes housemates. Truly those guy are assholes, but we had a lot of fun because WE ARE assholes. Now recently, we applied a 4mbps internet connection which is uber fast and share among the 10 of us. As you see, there's 10 of us, and each has their own interest and personalities. Some like to play online game, some like to stream, some like to download porn, and some like to download resources.

Here's the thing, I like surfing net, I like downloading resources, and occasionally I play online games. I understand how suck it is when you lag when playing games. So usually I close my downloads OBEDIENTLY when my housemates are playing games and I don't fucking complain when they close it when I'm not around (even I do complain, I'm just joking around as an asshole). What I don't get it is that they play those fucking online games for the whole fucking day, like they don't have any fucking better things to do. AND so, my downloads are force to close the whole day. Whenever I'm not around, they would gladly close my downloads and never bother to start it up again when they done playing, this is where it starts to get on my nerves. For some files, getting seeds are tough and I could barely download any amount of data in a day.

Tolerence has a limit. I do download some useless stuff sometimes, but I would occasionally download resources for my assignments and projects. Ironically, some of them like to fuck me when I'm downloading stuff, but unshamefully ask for the rich resources that I put effort and time into searching. Fuck you. If you have no intention to look for resources to enhance your productivity, then it's your own shit. Don't ask me for resources ever again, since you like to fuck around with me.

Well, I'm kinda grateful the time they welcomed me into their house, since I'm the last to join. But like I said, tolerance has a limit. Helping me before doesn't mean you are high and mighty. You are just another puny human like me. Heck, I don't give a fuck even if you are a son of god or whatever fuck you are. If you have so much time to fuck around with those games you adore so much, then look out your ass youself and don't ask me to share anything. When people are trying to be nice, someone else just wanna dump shit on your head and take everything for granted. So be it...

Winning Eleven Poster

Another friend request. A poster for some football-console-game-competition thingy. I'm just doing the visual and photo compositing part, that's why it looks incomplete. As for the text, my friend decided to do it himself.

Did it in like 2-3 hours? So, that's all I can offer XD...

Boring

Nothing to do, just draw an avatar.

Nissan GTR Interior

Just returned to Cyberjaya for my new coming smester. Been busy for days with different task, including moving my things back to Cyber. Kinda bored when think about the upcoming semester (or two), where it'll most probably be a hell as I need to do research and preparation for my final year project.

Anyway, for the past few days I've receive a request to do some sketches for my friend (posting it here later), preparing for my lame MUET exam, and a proposal (so-call lame "pitching") for my final year project. And I don't even have time to try out my new Sony Ericsson w910i XD.

Fortunately, I've receive my 1st freelance job from my ex-colleague/friend, Richard (thanks a lot man :D). It's part of the interior for the new Nissan GTR35. Got some reference picture and I'm required to do as realistic as possible. Well, it's a great opputunity for me to try out my VRay rendering skills (VRay rox!!). The job is not bad, not too difficult and not too easy, but doing the details is kinda hectic, especially preparing Japanese fonts. Luckily I studied some Japs before =_=...

Final render plus photoshop

Raw model

Creation of Adam Ed Version

Creation of Adam, famous painting by Michaelangelo on the ceiling of Sistine Chapel. Drawn with my own style. Took quite a long time to complete (few hours). Again, I did the finishing touch with lesser effort, as I don't want to waste too much time on an art piece.

I once heard from a famous concept artist, nowadays whichever art field you are in, students are lack of exposure to classical painting, expecially those from renaissance era. Renaissance art contains a lot of knowledge about art and science which worth studying. So, it's good to draw some classical painting once awhile...

Tengu

I'm still playing around with different styles. This time, I wanted to do some gritty and messy artwork. Another mythical youkai (demon?) from Japanese culture, Tengu.

Dragon

Boring...

Didn't turn out as I expected, crap...

LOST - Complete

Sorry for the delay. Finally completed my work and I have yet taken my bath. Previously I put the title "Girl". Actually, it is a fanart for my favourite band, Sound Horizon's album "Lost". So, I would give it the same name "Lost".

Wanted to try a high-key-tone with minimal toning. Lazy to add more description. If you are curious of how I paint it, just drop a comment.

Girl - WIP

Wow wee, my 1st time drawing a proper girl. All this while, I felt drawing a male character was tough. And when it comes to female, I feel like suiciding. Proportion, pose, charm, everything is killing me.

Details later. Going Genting tomorrow with my CB Housemates. Won't be completing it till Thursday.

Rockstar Axe

Keeping it short. Well, went back to Cyberjaya for a few days. Trying to prepare internship report as well as learning new stuff from my friends. Delay in updating my blog coz' I'm still really sucks in both 3D and 2D skills. Realise I didn't improve much during this intern. Will not be any 3D artworks surfacing soon. Though there are plans of what 3D I'll be doing.

Anyway, DOTA fanart. Depicting Axe with his Mighty Ax (musical instrument). Nothing much to describe. Since most of you don't bother to read anyway. ┐(´~`)┌

Inexperience Vector Art

What a tedious job this is. It's actually more of graphical design that I did for my ex-classmate, which to be use as a poster (I think). I don't have much experience with graphic/vector art, and actually I don't really like to do these kind of stuff. That's why I'm trying to get it done as quickly as possible. But more or less, yea, I learn some stuff and got some extra experience in doing vector arts.

Doing those decorations is really a hell of a job, though I got it done in a night, should I be proud of it? LOL. I may wanna avoid such task in the future, it cracks my head to do those frilly-swirly stuff =_=. Heck, since I'm doing it for a pretty girl (die also willing la, LOL), can't complain too much.

As for the Wacom challenge, I don't have much hope on it, since good artworks start popping out during last minute. What a let down, bah... Shouldnt' those pros give a chance to noobs like us? (゚Д゚)

*Edit:

My "client" rejected my work, so this is the new layout. I maintained everything except changing the colour scheme. Doesnt look as good as the previous one, not contrast enough... Well, that's what the client wants and that's what the client gets.

Still Rushing

Finally done my character design. This is as far as I can go with my current skills. I'm lazy to write out the description and details... And I'm tired...

Well, going off...

Rushing!! Rushing!!

The Wacom challenge deadline is closing in. And here's the character finalise sketch. Gonna do the full concept art painting tomorrow. I still have the environment to do, wa~~~ T______T.

Past few days I was in Cyberjaya with my laptop. Not able to my work properly, sucks (゚Д゚).

Intern

*Sigh* Three months is such a glimpse. My internship has officially ended last Friday and I bid farewell to my company today. It was an interesting experience for me and I had so much fun working in Metamosaic. My bosses and colleagues were so-not-typical which I could describe as madness. This one of a kind experience is so hard to describe in words. But I'm glad and happy that I worked (or par-tee ^_^) there. Thanks for everything Metamosaic, you'll be always remembered.

And now, some artwork I did in the company. Like most art and design company, the limitation for using our artwork is quite strict. There are bunch of stuff which I'm only allow to use as personal portfolio and presentation, but not posting it commercially, like into this blog. Anyway, hope you'll be delighted with my humble artworks. If you are interested in other stuff, I mean those that I'm not allowed to post here, you can look for me personally to get an idea on the stuff I did during my intern.

Project brief, the one I'm showing here are from a project where we are required to model buildings from a portion of Kuala Lumpur around KLCC area. You can say most of the models are low poly (sort of). Well, these are individual buildings I built. Maybe I'll post up the full modelled site later on when final touches are made by the company (if I'm allow to do so).

So, till then.

Wacom Challenge

Lack of updates... again. But this time, I'm not going to disappear like how I was before. Rather, I've decided to pick up the Wacom challenge and focus on the competition instead.

Wacom has opened up a competition to produce concept art of the future. I think it has prepared two categories, one for the visual of the future landscape, and another one will be designing a hero for the future.

Well, I'm kinda lazy to do all explanation. So far the submitted works for the challenge seems sucky (like I should say XD). It seems I'll be trying more of my luck and less of my skill, lol. I wanted a Wacom Intuos badly, so yea I'm looking forward to it.

Anyway, I've designed both landscape and my character for the past few days. I did the landscape in paper, so nothing to show for now. And this will be the draft of my character. Hoping to get the posture right later on. There are still a lot to fix in terms of poportion and posture. =_=

Leech King

I just remembered how terrified some of my colleagues were during our trip to Perak. And the thing that they were terrified of? L~E~E~C~H. They were feeling geli here and there, and when I told them some leeches would crawl into your underwear, they were horrified. LOL.

I dont' know. Perhaps I'm too used to them or I'm just a disgusting guy in some way. I find them adorable... in some way I mean. LOL. And the best way to handle them? Just not to panic, roll them on your skin and then throw it away, simple as that. They are just looking for food, that's all, nothing against humans.

Anyway, behold the true terror of leeches, The LEECH KING. Done in photoshop, 2.5 hours. Don't bother the miniature humans around it, I drew it out of fun. It should have been a speed paint. Wasted my time fixing shits. Angle, perspective, colour, form, all those common things, bah =_=.

Speed Paint X Experiment

Another speed paint and experimentation. Just got the idea in my office today. Suddenly have the urge to paint the elegant Flying Snow (Maggie Cheung, yay!!) from Hero (the one that Jet Li acted).

Hmmm..... Nothing much to describe. Like I said, I wanted to develope the concept art style, that's why it's kinda rough. But I'm quite happy how it turned out. Able to hang on the "flow" during certain stage.

2 hours, Adobe PS3.

Speed Paint

Woot. Nearly missing for a week. Went to my company trip last weekend. Super fun. Super crazy. Super experience. My 1st time playing paintball and rafting. Whats best is, my 1st time to get allergy symptom which last for 1 day!! Yay!! =_=

Perhaps I'm gonna share my trip experience next time, afterI get the photos from my colleague to show off.

For now, artwork!!! Speed paint, spend around an hour, excluding time which I used to help my friends with their tech probs ^_^. Done in photoshop, I'm liking photoshop more and more, perhaps for its control and post-pro features. Anyway, I did it with reference, Terminator 4: Salvation poster to be exact. I wanted to experiment with the concept-art-technique kind of feel.

Well, I plan to do EVA01 (speed paint again) tomorrow, since it's Friday night and I can spend whole late night without worrying working. Yay!!!

Gawd, am I being cheerful....

Saber Lily Finalise

Ok. Old habit strikes. Got tired and lazy doing this piece for past 2 weeks. It's time to move on to a new project as well as trying some new stuff.

I started out not bad, got worse in the mid, and lost my motivation towards the end XP. Bah, at least I learned some stuff during the process. Should keep on practicing in order not to forget the things I've learned.

And I still can't grasp the flow yet... *sigh~~*

Done in Photoshop, not sure the time, but taken 2 weeks by spending few hours every night. Still a long way to go.... It's time for me to practice speed paint.

Progress Check: Saber Lily

Nothing much, just progress check. Feel free to leave comments. Feel slightly dissapointed as it didn't turn out as I expected.

I still have a LOooooNG~~~~~~~~~~~ long way to go.......... T_T

An Oath

Wow wee, time for random post. Some of my artist friends who knows me well should have heard this from me before. I have made an oath to myself, that after I graduate and earning income by myself, I'm gonna buy an artbook every month. And since I'm earning some money even before grad (by internshipXD), I start fulfilling my oath before then :D. These are my personal collection

Digital Art Masters 1

Digital Art Masters 2

1st and 2nd are "Digital Art Master" series 1 and 2 by the famed 3dtotal.com. It cost me around 200+ (after discount :D) in Basheer Graphics Bookstore for both. Though my father's the one sponsored me. Perhaps he saw how passionate I am on digital arts and I told him that it may suddenly out of stock. I wanted to ordered online previously and it cost a total of 500+ bucks including shipping. So, it was a smart choice to grab it as soon as I got the chance.

It features currently some of the not-so-famous but reputated digital artist of the industry. Besides featuring their works, it includes some brief description on brainstorming and the artistic procees by those artist. It is definitely worthy piece of collection.

Vagabond Artbook "Sumi"

Vagabond Artbook "Water"

Next are artbooks from my idol, INOUE TAKEHIKO SENSEI!! The 1st one is actually a pirated copy (I think) of the "Vagabond" artbook, "water", which I bought in a manga store costing me around 30 bucks, and I actually thought it was original, crap =_=. The quality's not bad though, lucky me. The 2nd is another artbook from "vagabond" as well, titled "sumi". I actually got this original copy from kinokuniya which cost me 150 bucks. It was a tough 1 to find. Unlike "water", "sumi" featured a lot of the same work taken from the manga itself, kinda let down. Well, his my idol, so I can't complain so much bout it ><.

Well, recently I have make up mind to buy not just artbook, but any accessories that has to do with art as well, such as BENDABLE, POSABLE toy figure unlike the Ikea's stupid wood figure. Since I do not plan to waste all my money on useless artbooks which done by artist I'm not interested of.

Anyway, if you are interested, I would be happy to lend these books for you to browse. But if anything happens to them, you just replace a new one for me, simple as that ^_^. "Sumi" is officially the 1st artbook I bought with my salary, and I'll be doing 3 months intern. That means I have 2 more artbooks to buy by the end of my internship. Well, which one should I get this time (´ー`).

Saber Lineart

Here I am, taking me 3 nights to get the lineart done. Like what I mentioned in my last post, it's a collab work between me and my friend Agito (you can view his uber-gay artwork here). The initial design was done by him base on a new design of Saber from Fate/Stay Night, which the developers call it "Saber Lily Version".

Well, I wanted to collab with Agito for quite a long time, since both of us are quite fond of drawing and painting. So, recently he suggested me to take his new piece of work to do my own tweaks. At first I thought of doing minor tweaks and modification, but got carried away and did A LOT of changes, sorry bout that ><.

He can really draw figures, characters and stuffs like that with super details. Though sometimes his detailing are too much and caused imbalance in his drawings, and now I'm there to "balance" it out :D. I did some changes on the armor part. For the upper body, I kept most of the design intact except making Saber more "expose" XD. For the skirt, well I changed a lot because of the extreme details and to make the flow better. Some minor tweaks on the armor boots, hands, and eyes, and posture, and I added more depth on the perspective as well. Finally, I changed Agito's badass sword to a more elegant and slimer sword to suit Saber's personality.

Well, for minor details and inscription on the ornaments, I'm going to add it only during painting process. And yes, I'm gonna paint it after this. Hopefully I don't screw up like I usually do =_=.
Saber Lily My Version

Saber Lily Agito's Version

wOOt

Nope, I'm not dead yet. It's been quite a long time since I posted here. Well, I got myself messed up quite a bit. I don't like making excuses, the truth is whatever happend, I just failed to do what I should. But anyway, I'm here again to post some stuff, I mean artworks.

Here's an experiment on custome brush. I'm trying to acheive calligraphy brush style. But seems it ended up as something else =_=. Nothing special, like I said, just an experiment. Reference from Inoue Takehiko sensei's Vagabond.

As for this one, it's a collabaration between me and my friend Agito, re-imagining Fate/Stay Night's Saber(Lily version). I'll do the explanation later when I'm done the lineart. It's still in draft stage and I'm kinda lazy :P

I know some visitors left because of my recent lack updates. It's kinda obvious base on the pagehits XD. Anyway, don't leave for good yet. I promise I'll be good boy and do my work properly from now on XD. Shinpai nai yo. Ima kara, ore ga zutto zutto ganbatte da yo.

And here's a great quote from Batman Begins

"Why do we fall? So we can learn to pick ourselves up"

The Dark Knight

ZOMG, ZOMG!!! I've just watched TDK in IMAX. It was the coolest superhero movie I've seen, way cooler than Spidey ever were, and of course total ownage of spandex-wearing Superman (I never liked him). Like the critics describe it, "qualify as a superior artistic achievement in its own right".

I could say every cast in this film is totally remarkable. Nevertheless Heath (RIP) Ledger did an extraordinary performance portraying Joker to it's peak of insanity. This film totally explores the hardship, conflicts and issues that never been touch by other superhero films. It even explains the insanity of the world, the super villians are drawn by people such as Batman. Although it's kind of tedious since it span for 2.5 hours. But it's worth, like watching Lord of The Rings, with super cool action, super cool gadgets, super cool story, and super cool Joker who makes a super cool killing joke.

Like the previous film, Chirstian Bale did a very good job portraying the dark vigilante and the bright playboy, best in history. The other cast did superb acting too, like Michael Caine, Gary Oldman, (unexpectedly) Maggie Gyllenhaal, and Aaron "Two-Face" Eckhart. Christopher Nolan did a very good job in assembling the cast and directing the movie, making it a great entertainment of the summer and an art masterpiece.

And how should we forget, the last and most memorable performance by Heath Ledger. His acting probably outshines every other cast. His portrayal of Joker is just... insane. If I had the chance to rank every supervillians alive, I would definitely rank him the first. He was totally horrifying, scary, psycopathic... every word you can find to describe a serial killer... Though I did find him amusing, or funny... I love his insanity (though it pains sometimes, ouch) and of course his killing joke. A pity Ledger died early, he is most deserve an Oscar for this one. And I'm wondering who Chris will cast as the joker later (perhaps Jake Gyllenhaal? =_=).

Anyway, it's the best movie I watched in years (I think) and most deserving to spend another 2 bucks in IMAX. You're freak if you think this movie is bad, I could say even Joker thinks you're freak.

XD

*Joker: How about a magic trick? [Slams the pencil upright twisting it into the table] I'm going to make this pencil disappear. [henchman tries to attack him; Joker slams the man's head into the pencil. The man falls over dead.] Taa-daa! It's gone!

BOOM DEE YADA!!!

BOOM DEE YADA!!!

A must watch from discovery channel. Discovery rox hard this time. And Adam rox too on the 2nd video. Do watch both ^_^.

I love the whole world~~

Metamosaic

It's been two weeks since I started my intern. Days seem to pass so fast, probably because I had so much fun working as intern.

To me, Metamosaic seems like a small family, with everyone taking care of each other so much, joking so much, and even being crazy so much. And what's more interesting is, the company has four bosses and each of them always join in the fun, even making the "fun" itself (except for one who is quite cool/cold, LOL). Even I'm on a cloudy mood, they can turn it into bright sky.

If you ask me what I learned so far, I can't really explain. Perhaps I had so much fun until it didn't matter. All I hope is that the fun can last a little longer. This company has a working environment that I longed for. The boss even welcomed me to return to the company after I graduate (and expect me to pick up some extra skills XD when I return). To them, what matters is the "people", not the "profit".

Everyone here always work far more longer than office hour, including myself. Some may think that we are trying to "bok sing jik" (trying to climb the corparate ladder), but I can tell that the company has so much fun it became a place worth hanging out. Why leave when we get the chance to shoot each other in Call of Duty after work? I think the boss look so younger than his age is because he knows how to have fun to relieve stress, and have a good wife (which he claims XD).

Anyway, I'm glad I worked there and meeting these people. This is how life should be.

Hiatus

Hello all. Ok, I'll be making this quick and short. I'll be on hiatus and leaving this blog for awhile, perhaps a month. The past week I've been doing some artworks and I screwed up fugly-ly (fucking ugly-ly). So, I will undergo an intense training for the coming month with my tight internship schedule.

Anyway, recently I got great resources from my great big bro and my caring father. With these resources, hopefully I'll be able to improve with godspeed.

Thanks to everyone who came. Even with my sucky works, you guys still come and read my blog, I am truly grateful. To me, you guys are really true friends, thank you.

See you then.

To Do List

Just a random update, nothing much. Here's my to do list for the internship period which I categorise as personal projects. Seriously, if I'm not able to complate it, it proves that I learned nothing and not improving for the internship period. I failed to reach the summit of the mountain.

Detail modeling
1. Bugatti Veyron
2. Porsche 911 GT3 (revise)
3. Interior scene

Low Poly Modeling
1. Mini Copper
2. An interior scene
3. A mecha/machine/engine thingy

Concept art
At least 3 concept arts are in my mind right now, hope will be able to draw it out and paint it in details in the coming months.

100 Hits and Woot

1st, I like to apologize for the lack of updates. As most of you know I'm doing intern right now. I usually reach home at 9pm and then spend the rest of my night eating, bathing and watching discovery channel, that makes it an average 1-2 hours every night for me to lay my hands on personal project. And whenever I screw up my work, I'll be wasting that 1-2 hours, which I usually do.

Anyway, I would like to humbly thank everyone who visits my blog and supported it. Although it's not a big number, but getting 100 hits in less than a month really motivates me. Actually, I wanted to draw something as a token of appreciation, but like I said, it got screwed up, sorry for that.

'Sides that, I haven't discuss with my intern's boss about using the works I did in the company as my portfolio. SO, no intern works for the time being, hehe. But I'll try to get 1-2 works done in this weekend, as a way of 'redeeming' myself :P. So, until then...

Kappatron Final?

Sorry for posting late. I was away the whole day yesterday, due to some business and gathering with my old friends. Anyway, here's the coloured version of my Kappatron. I can't really say it's the final outcome, as I haven't touch up some details and the background. And I won't be completing it soon as well, just because I haven't done exploring vray for my intern which starts tomorrow =_=.

Well, like I said, it's a birthday present to my mentor/friend/housemate Alan, hahaha. You can view his gay works here http://genewiz.deviantart.com/. He's a mecha freak, so I thought of designing a mecha which suits him. As for the "kappa", well I don't really wanna explain why, LOL.

Drawing done by hand, wacom tablet, and corel painter 9. It took me quite some time, I'm still hell of a noob in painting, and I'm not out for a time attack, so yeah, this is the quality/standard I can produce now.

Okey then, again happy birthday to Alan (though it's still early to say it), hope my present suits you well.

Kappatron In Progress

I'm tired of doing Vray these few days. Just manage to draw few concept arts. Anyway, I'll post one of my recent concept art. Its a birthday gift to my friend. Though I'll be getting the colour done by either tomorrow or the day after that.

For the explanation, it's a mecha design base on the mythical creature from Jpan, Kappa (河童). For details, I'll elaborate after I get the colours done, LOL.

Anyway, these days I get migraine easily by wearing my glasses for whole fucking day. Just because of my freaking table, I'm sitting quite a distance from my monitor and I can't see properly without my glasses on, crap. And I seriously need a scanner.

Vray

I feel kinda bad if not posting for days. So, here's a random post of "something". Don't blame me for the uninteresting content. Well, if you are into graphics, perhaps you may even gain some knowledge.

Okey. I've been studying Vray for the past 2 days and I realise it is indeed a very cool renderer. It has detail parameters that enables you to control the micro-est thing about rendering, that's my opinion though. However, like the impression it gives me all along, the rendering is too nice and too perfect until it looks fake. Unless you are really good in texturing and micro-manage the parameters, do not hope to produce any super realistic result.

Bah, I don't know what to say more. I can only post some test renders here for you to view yourself. Anyway, if you are interested in picking up Vray, I'll be most happy to teach...... After I finish my intern i mean, hehehe.
